Evidence labels in the Atlas catalog
What our evidence labels mean, and what they deliberately do not mean.
Catalog only
The Atlas internal research database establishes that a label is tracked, but identity, composition, mechanism, or independent literature still requires editorial review.
Preclinical
The profile is dominated by in vitro, ex vivo, or animal studies. This can support mechanism generation but does not establish a human outcome.
Early clinical and mixed translational
Some human research exists, but its size, independence, indication coverage, or consistency is not sufficient for a broad conclusion.
Established clinical
A substantial controlled human literature exists. This label remains indication- and context-specific and is not a recommendation.
Established biochemical
The molecule has a well-established endogenous biochemical role. This label does not imply that every intervention intended to alter it has established clinical value.
